GEA Process Engineering Francehas won Danone Canada’s ‘Supplier of the Year’ award in the category ‘Capital Investment’. It was the company’s liquid processing business unit, Scami, which secured the victory.

The third annual ‘Supplier of the Year Award’ took place in Boucherville, Canada on June 15. Seven awards were handed out in the categories ‘Goods & Services Operations’, ‘Raw Materials & Packaging’,‘Capital Investment’, ‘Best in Quality’, ‘Best in Partner Attitude’, ‘Best in Creativity’ and ‘Overall Supplier of the Year’.

The six other award winners were Entreposage et Distribution Robert (Goods & Services Operations), Spartech Corporation (Raw Materials & Packaging),Les Bleuets Sauvages du Québec,Inc.(Best in Quality), Southern Graphic Systems Canada, Inc. (Best in Creativity), Givaudan (Best in Partner Attitude) and Spartech Corporation (The Overall Supplier of the Year).

The performance of suppliers was evaluated by Danone’s cross-functional teams and was based on work and projects that took place in 2010. The suppliers were judged on numerous criteria: improvements in environmental sustainability, quality & safety, improvements in cost, accelerating the ‘time to market’ of new or renovated products, boosts in innovation, protection of competitive advantage, and the demonstration of shared values in the relationship with Danone.

Managing Director Jean-Yves Seille from GEA Process Engineering France’s Liquid Processing Department said on receiving the prize: “This prize means a great deal to us. We realized our first contract with Danone Canada in 2004 and since then, we have finalized several contracts successfully. The last one – the Danactive production line – is the reason we received this award. My belief is that the Supplier of the Year title will help usremain one of Danone’s favorite providers both now and in the future.”
