GEA Group and GEA Process Engineering France sign a contract with Laktopol!
Laktopol, a leading privately-owned Polish dairy, is a major player in the milk powder and whey production industry.
Based in Suwałki, the plant produces more than 40 tons of various types of milk powders per day that are mostly sold on the Polish market as well as on the European and international markets.
Laktopol has a strong R&D activity and is always looking for innovative products. That is why the company recently placed an order with the GEA Group for a complete whey and skim milk production plant.
From product acceptance to packaging, the companies in the GEA Group will be using their synergies and know-how to design one of the country’s most cutting-edge plants.
For this project, the Niro Division in GEA Process Engineering France will be supplying a mechanical recompression evaporator and a Compact drying tower (rotary atomizer and high-pressure nozzles) that will produce a very wide variety of powders and functionalities.
It should also be noted that the design for energy recovery between the evaporator and the dryer will be used in this new plant.
This plant will begin production in 2008 and make it possible for Laktopol to produce approximately 5 tons of whey powder per hour.
