Liquid Liquid Extraction, also known as Solvent
Extraction, is the technique used to extract acids from an aqueous
solution.
The presence of non-extractable salts in the solution
(salting out effect) helps to facilitate the extraction process which is
enhanced by a low acid strength, low hydration energy of acid anion and large
molecular size.
Thanks to its long and successful collaboration history with
MEAB, GEA Kestner is able to propose complete units for the following:
- Recovery of acids from Stainless Steel Pickling Baths (HF, HNO3)
- Conversion of Nitric Acid Leach Solutions to Sulphuric Acid Solutions
- Purification of Phosphoric Acid (Food Grade Quality)
- Production of
Pure Citric & Lactic Acid
